There came a stage where Texans outnumbered Tejanos, do to this situation, the United Statesians decided to offer them a stability if they joined their nation. Texan saw this as a great opportunity to officially separate themselves from Mexico. Manifest Destany contributed to the annexation and now Texas was part of the U.S. The U.S was getting what getting what it wanted (expansion of the western frontier), while Mexico struggles to control its own land. The U.S now shared a Texan border with Mexico. Tensions between two newly powerful nations roused. The indication of the boundary of Texas was what later became problematic. Mexico defined that Texas included only the eastern part and was bounded by the Nueces River, while the U.S claim it was the Rio Grande. The Mexicans concluded that the U.S was taking territory unwisely. Both nations failed to settle the dispute. Through a series of battles the United States was able to complete their dream of Manifest Destiny/expanding the western frontier. Mexico had not only lost Texas but also Utah, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, and California where many Mexicans (including Tejanos) lived. Because of the Mexican people now living in U.S soil they decided to establish the Treaty of Guadalupe, which gave Tejanos rights. Tensions started to cool down and both nation began to exchange resources. They established a firm borderline, nonetheless it was not heavily enforced. Mexican revolutionaries (Mexican individuals who fought for their nations stolen land) raids in border towns were becoming a routine, and United Statesians began to revolt. The lack of border security began to be a problem. Throughout time the United States started to send troops to secure border passing, consequently building a physical border between both nations. The United Statesians, Mexicans, and Texans/Tejanos all contributed to U.S and Mexico war. The U.S greediness of wanting to expand their nations through the concept of Manifest Destany; Mexico’s over-confidence of security, and control over the people; and Texans/Tejano’s neediness of stabilization, piled up until war broke out.
