Why do humans today like to study old historical types of texts, in the english classroom? Well the reason for this is because all individuals like to investigate, explore, follow, pursue and understand what our world was like back then. The importance of these texts helps gather the world 's stories and experiences of the past. In recent years there has been a big deal of controversy surrounding the types of texts studied in Australia 's english classroom. The Highwayman is another intriguing love poem, who was written by another canonical writer named, Alfred Noyes. This poem celebrates the passionate love of its two main characters, Bess and the Highwayman, describing why love is worth dying for. It appeared that it was love at first sight with an extraordinary high level of passion which was felt between Bess and the highwayman in anticipation for their next romantic meeting which was promised by the Highwayman. Unfortunately Bess was held as a prisoner by the soldiers who used her to lay a trap for the Highwayman in order to murder him. To alert the Highwayman, Bess breaks free from her hold and pulls the trigger of the rifle that is tied to her. This warning was for the Highwayman and resulted in the high price of Bess’s life. He in turn hears of this fateful death of his true love and he is overwhelming succumbed by love for Bess, he recklessly rides into the enemy on the highway and is killed. The Highwayman it is a romantic poem which shows the extent of love which is forever, even death is unable to separate this couple.
