And this is how I apply the life stages framework to the book “As You Are Now”, Caro shows us a complete circle of the five stages of soul. She moves to a new “home”, she experiences different emotions, good and bad; joy and anger; hope and despair. Caro tries to find a way out. And yet, she compromises, but nothing changes. My answer for this question is facilities should take the responsibility to take care elders. The main reason I said that is because we can better regulate facilities than home care. First of all, there are laws and protocols that facilities have to follow. And, anyone can report abuse or underserve to ombudsman. Anyhow, the true despite the popular impression of that home care provides better service than nursing facility. Because we trust our family members more than caregivers. But the true is tons of abuses are happening while older people are taken care at home by their family members, but most abuses are yet to be exposed. There are two major causes are: 1) No one can discover these abuses, but only perpetrators and the victims. 2) Since the perpetrators are related to the victims who are the older people, older people are always more willing to from harms. In result, older people will decide let things pass without saying anything. Furthermore, in facilities, older people can enjoy the more professional services that home care can never compare with. Hence, I recommend that older people stay at regulated facilities for old
