Firstly, traditions play a critical role in all of the unique cultures around the world. They form the different experiences in a person’s life and unites people in the communities. These could be objects from past generations that have been handed down over time from family member to family member. “Piecing It All Together” explains how Baba saw quilt making as a way to learn patience, that would help her grow into a woman to tend to work, home and family (344). While Baba is learning this, she expressed how valuable her family, home and work are to her personally. It also shows how important it is to her to be a good influence to her family for having these achieved these qualities. Just like in “Let the Good Times Roll,” people value music, food, creativity, neighbors, and the joy of living, which show what is most important in one’s life (361). What each person individually values the most depends on my factors, however, that is something that makes us all uniquely
