Although most people would disagree, I think that the driving age should not be risen for two reasons. One reason I feel this way is because after so many years of having the driving age the way it is, there is no valid reason to change it now. The driving age was changed to 16 so that the blood alcohol limit for under-20s would be decreased to 0. Parliament also felt that it would strengthen the restricted license test. Another reason I disagree with the age change is that I do not want to have to wait any longer.…
I think people should be able to drive at whatever age they feel like they can safely drive. I think the minimum age should be thirteen, and as long as you’re a teenager, driving tests should be harder. Also, instead of just passing, everyone has to get 100%. As long as we know that teens will be safe, they can drive. If they won’t be safe and won’t drive carefully and responsibly, then they shouldn’t be able to drive.…
Can you imagine being seventeen and you can not go to a friends house ,because you can not drive and you have to wait for your mother or father to drive you? Well that could be reality ,many states have increased the minimum driving age. Our state is now considering raising it as well I think it should not be raised because driving is important from your teenage years on ,and it is our right to be able to learn and to drive at sixteen. To begin, you can learn alot from driving at sixteen.…
Boom crash! A 16 year old just went off the road. This is why people want to change the age limit to 18. People have researched if this should happen. They came with the answer no.…
Some people believe that the driving age should remain sixteen instead of being raised to eighteen. Many adults would agree that the driving age should remain the same age at sixteen. However, others say that the driving age should be raised to eighteen instead of sixteen. I believe that the driving age should be raised to eighteen because eighteen year olds are more responsible, eighteen year olds brains are more developed than a sixteen year old, and eighteen year olds are at less of a risk than a sixteen year old.…
Why the driving age should not be raised Driving is a big art of maturing and growing as an individual. State governments are pushing for the driving age to be raised to eighteen, but there is no reason for this. Sixteen year olds are naturally capable to drive with their senses being heightened as they are younger. Generally, sixteen year olds are unfairly judged as irresponsible and not attentive enough to drive.…
For most Americans, 16th birthdays are synonymous with getting a driver’s license. It is a monumental day for most teens, however many believe that teens are too careless to drive. While teens may seem more reckless and irresponsible, they only account for about 12 percent of all fatal crashes per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The minimum driving age should not be raised because fatal crashes involving teens are steadily decreasing due to tougher restricted license laws and teens can receive valuable experience at a younger age.…
One reason the driving age should be raised is because countless teens are involved in accidents every year. To begin with a 2017 article approaching the topic of current percentages of teen car wrecks. In 2015, teens, ages 16-19 were killed due to a car accident putting them in emergency departments for medical care. They then looked at numbers and found that 2,333 teens were killed in the U.S. and 221,313 were in critical care in 2014. This means that six teens ages 16-19 died every day from motor vehicle injuries.…
I believe the teen driving age should be raised because teenagers don’t have much responsibility, enough experience with driving,…
An estimated 20,000lives have been saved in the past twenty-five years, but yet politicians are not wanting to budge on the driving age in the United States. It is estimated that triple the number of lives saved due to the change in drinking age will be saved if the driving age was to be raised. It takes a lot of persuasion to change a hard headed politicians mind. What usually gets them to is a series of crashed involving young adults, and then, jut maybe, they will think of other ways to protect our young people(Davis, “is 16 too Young?”).…
Do you remember how excited you were to finally get your license when you were sixteen? Or do you remember how excited you were going to be once you reached sixteen so imagine if they were to raise the driving age to eighteen. The driving age should not be raised. It should not be raised because sixteen is a good age to start driving. You're old enough to have an job at this age so you should be able to have a license to make sure you can be self reliant getting to work or anywhere else without relying on someone like parents or any other family members.…
Imagine yourself in a particular situation for a moment. You’re living in a modern day teen’s shoes. Coincidentally, today is the big football championship you’ve been waiting to play for, and you’re the star player on the school team, with this being the final game. You feel a bit nervous but nevertheless confident to win the game for your team because this game could decide your football career. According to name of source more than 8,000 people are killed or involved in serious accidents by 15-20 year old’s on the road. This shows that 15-20-year old’s cause more accidents than more experienced mid aged drivers. If driving ages were raised there would be less teen drivers…
Driving is something everyone will have to do in their lifetime. To make the experience safer, states implement new restrictions and laws. Raising the minimum driving age are one of the approaches states take to defend the live of drivers. The Restrictions and laws already set for teen drivers effectively make them safer, demonstrating there is no need to lower the minimum age. Over the years, new courses and restrictions that specifically target sixteen and seventeen years olds have assisted in saving lives.…
So because of that the driving age should be raised. According to Julie (n.d) in ‘driving and texting” “make your car a no phone zone”. Saving people from car accidents that are caused by teenagers is the most important thing the countries should work on starting from today. Decrease the number of car accidents by rising the driving age to 21 so we can stop what is happing now a days from losing people that are driving safely in the roads from drivers who are driving in a careless why like…
