For example, nurses are in good position to clarify whether Donald Trump’s insurance policy is detrimental or helpful to the Americans. Another belief is that advocate nurses can influence the implementation of health policy. Nurses have substantial power to influence legislation of policies especially when nursing has a solid, cohesive choice on an issue. They also influence implementation of policies by testifying on the effectiveness of certain policies. This influences the manner in which some policies are integrated in health care system in that some may be declined when nurses testify against them. Most of my beliefs have been influenced by attending workshops and discussions with friends and workmates and this has helped me develop positive attitude towards advocacy in nursing. The leadership style and qualities that I have observed in the staff in the organization I have been working is transformational leadership. This type of leadership is important to all nurses who wish to become self-advocates. I have seen nurses use transformational leadership during policymaking as well as day-to-day activities. In my organization, the manager delegates duties to help people overcome their challenges. A part from transformational leadership, I have observed is servant leadership. This is whereby leaders put the needs of followers first. The difference between transformational and servant leadership is mainly the focus of the leader. The focus of transformational leadership is mainly directed towards the organization and the behavior of the leader is crucial in building follower commitment towards organizational goals whereas the focus of the servant leader 's is mainly on followers and the success of the organization goals is a subordinate outcome. However, the similarity between the two types of leadership is that they play a vital role in building a concrete and strong leadership team. Finally, a good leader is a leader who “walks the talk” by being responsive to groups needs, has sharp perception, observes integrity and is responsible for his/her actions. One of the significant events that occurred as part of the service learning activities was a workshop on health care insurance policy pricing. The workshop discussed some of the policies engineered by current presidential candidates Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. This workshop was significant to me because I learned a lot about the pricing of health care insurance.
