I would like to discuss a chromosomal disorder called Turner Syndrome 1 in 2,500 females are born with Turner Syndrome. It is a chromosomal disorder where a female is born with only one X chromosome or part of one. It can be diagnosed before birth, during infancy or in early childhood. Some of the developmental issues of this disease will be abnormalities in the developing of reproductive organs, delayed puberty, short statue and a jaw that is underdeveloped. Most times they will also have a webbed neck.
Other signs of this disease include: high blood pressure, osteoporosis, widely spaced nipples, and scoliosis. Females with Turner syndrome with have a hard time learning, especially Math Some long term consequences include infertility which in some cases can be made possible with hormone treatment and therapy. Girls with this disease will need regular checkups and medical help but can otherwise live normal lives.
