When you first meet someone you are going to have first impressions or preconceptions. For example when the europeans and native americans first were introduced i'm sure they had first impressions and ideas of what they were like. what do you first think they had thought about each other?
When the europeans first met the native americans they were most likely scared at first. They had never met before. Being first introduced to someone for the first time can be frightening. Complete strangers meeting each other. The europeans had no idea what the native americans were capable of vise versa. The europeans needed shelter,food,and resources. Some of the europeans went out to explore and find some food,shelter,and resources. They were taking a long time to return so more of the europeans went off looking for them. The europeans found the native americans holding bows up at them. They had to be frightened not knowing what could possibly happen to them. Then later on the natives end up helping out the europeans and everything ended up being okay.
The next story we read about is “Offer to Help” written by Canassatego. The native americans were judging the europeans on the way they hunted,working skills,and much more. First impressions and ideas of how they acted and were like were made. When thinking about how they were natives believed they were absolutely no good for anything at all.
The final story i'm going to tell you is about “Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson” written by Mary Rowlandson herself. Mary Rowlandson a european lady was introduced to the natives in not so pleasant of a way. The natives were killing. Mary seeing her dear friends lay on the ground bleeding out, because of the natives. The natives later then take mary captive. Marys son died so young and so full of life. Everything was going wrong because of the indians. The natives later on then help mary. they gave mary food,water,shelter and later on helped
