Mahatma Gandhi once said, “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man 's needs, but not every man 's greed”. People in this world, even to this very day still yearn for anything they want and perform actions in order to achieve their goals. There have been several instances where we have failed to take time and think about the consequences and impacts our actions could have on society. For the past few years, Canada and the United States have started to build a pipeline that travels through both countries. This pipeline known as the Keystone Pipeline and it carries petroleum across the country.…
Perhaps one of the most widely debated topics, in recent years, is the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline. The completion of the project has been done in multiple phases and one of the last phases scheduled to be completed is the phase 4 extension. This extension would create a pipeline that would trek, around 2000 miles, from Alberta Canada to the gulf coast of Texas (Friends of the Earth). Since the pipeline would cross international borders, approval from congress would be necessary in order to begin construction (NPR). The two main issue points on the topic are the economic gains that could incur from the development of the pipeline and the overall impression on the environment that would ensue from extraction, transportation, and refining of the oil.…
You bring up some great points! Your second paragraph, Vyas as manager verse Vyas as facilitator, is where I centered my analysis and would like to further expand upon. As you pointed out, Vyas surrounded himself with a talented team headed by a manger he previously had a professional relationship with. However, I believe Vyas miscalculated the gravity of the project he took on. The Filtration Unit was not a priority for ART and thus not apart of the “Fast Track Pipeline” program.…
Introduction The Keystone Pipeline was a proposed idea of a pipeline that would run from the oil sands of Canada to Steele City, Nebraska (“Keystone” 1). It would then connect with an existing pipeline that would administer it elsewhere. Since the proposal was for an oil pipeline that would cross international borders, it needed the President’s approval. The idea became such a controversial topic when President Obama stated that six days to decide the fate of this project was not a sufficient amount of time to make a decision.…
My Stakeholders are supporters, implementers, recipients, and partners identified with my program. Getting them included at an opportune time will help me get alternate points of view on the program and set up common expectations. This will help to clarify goals and objectives of my program I’ll evaluate, so everybody comprehends its purpose. I identified the following stakeholder for the Family House Program (FHP) Step 1: Define your stakeholders Public Schools Local Residents Mental Health Services Social Work Services Refugee Services Step 2: Describe the program The motivation behind the Family House Program is to give educational training and support, referral, and direction to expand the open door for scholarly accomplishment of immigrant…
My Reflection My first impression was like this going to go by smooth but I rush it. I know I have lots points for the one minute and 27 seconds. I really wasn't trying to speed though.…
The Keystone XL Pipeline is the proposed last segment of the greater Keystone Pipeline project owned by TransCanada which would run from Hardisty, Alberta (in Canada) to Steele City, Nebraska. The proposed pipeline would carry oil sands from Canada to refineries on the Gulf Coast (Cama and Wilson 14).This pipeline would utilize a bitumen-harvesting process which is more environmentally damaging and less efficient than the tradition oil drilling process. Additionally, the pipeline has been controversial due to the environmental hazards tin its operation (Issitt). One of the major groups of protestors to the Keystone Pipeline are Native American Tribes including the Northern Arapaho Tribe, Yankton Sioux Tribe, and Blackfeet tribe. Their feelings…
The Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) remains the most recent pipeline controversy covered in the media. Though the protests inspired government intervention of construction of the pipeline, the concerns regarding pipeline use remains relevant. One of the main concerns of the construction of the DAPL is that if a burst or leak were to occur, it would result in the pollution of the Missouri River, a main water source for hundreds of thousands of people (Kirby). This concern is not unwarranted: The Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) stated that the number of significant pipeline incidents grew 26.8% from 2006 to 2015 (Zukowski). The PHMSA and many other pipeline safety organizations have accumulated evidence to show that…
Key Stakeholders Many key stakeholders are involved in the implementation of this project. Residents are obviously involved, as a reduction of behavioural episodes can improve quality of life (Jeon et al. 2012, p. 509). Workloads, and hence costs, for nursing and caring staff can be reduced, as well as less involvement in rectifying behavioural problems (Zeller et al. 2011, pp. 2473-2474).…
Dr. Yeung is a psychologist and in her job description to protect her clients whether its harm to self or others. Her client Aiden is a 35-year-old parolee who was convicted of spousal abuse. Even though to her knowledge when Aiden drinks he doesn't follow through on his threats it's still an ethical dilemma because of Principle A: Beneficence and Nonmaleficence which is the psychologist is responsible for the well-being of their client (Fisher, 2013, p. 33). The stakeholders are Aiden because he is the one that Dr. Yeung needs to be concerned about whether or not he is trying to end his own life with a bottle.…
The important stakeholders are the people! My personal belief is policy changes at the lower levels, when people actual take the time to speak out and fight for what they need. We are currently experiencing a change in healthcare. A more universal health care has been enforced by our government and is trickling down into communities. This is allowing people to make choices of access.…
1. Introduction Hoof Nuclear (HN) has been surfaced with some issues ever since it opened. Many foreign governments and funded campaign group wants to seize the operations of Hoof Nuclear. Hoof Nuclear is owned by Hoof Power Company and has been around 51 years. Ever since its operation, the neighboring counties (Beeland and Ceeland) want them to seize their operation.…
A topic that was become highly controversial and sparked debated over the past couple of decades has been smoking tobacco. With an increasing number of studies showing and validating that smoking is harmful to you, many people, the majority being non-smokers, believe that there should be some sort of ban on smoking cigarettes, or even making it illegal. However, every topic has an opposing side and contrary to the thought of banning smoking, a large number of people still think that there should be no law forbidding smoking. A large number of the people who fall into that category are the stakeholders for tobacco. Stakeholders play a large roll in the decision of the topic, as well.…
1.1: Explain the basis on which the need for marketing stakeholder relationships are identified and prioritised Marketing and stakeholder relationships are identified when the relationship is beneficial to the organisations business goals. These stakeholders could be internal such as colleagues and management or they could be external such as shareholders and customers. Prioritisation is identified based on what stakeholder relationship is more beneficial to the organisation than others. These relationships are developed from working with the stakeholders and acting upon feedback given.…
We analyzed problems, learned about the negative and positive impact, set solution criteria and standards, and then only decisions were made. Member’s participations are another key to success in small projects like…
