A trait that could change if, for example, Australia dipped below sea level and became swamps and/or ocean is that the arms of Kangaroos could grow wider to become like fins to allow for them to swim around easier. This would include the muscles becoming stronger in the arms and the, so to say, hands becoming wider. In the older section, the skull is quite long and skinny. Its arms and legs are pretty short and look as if they are all used in its walking. The vertebra does not reach much further out over the body and is pretty centralized, as its ribs are also. Then as it evolves into the “old” section the hind legs become longer and the feet are also quite long. The skull is much shorter but much more compressed and is much larger. Its arms are longer and closer to the main body. This era of Kangaroo is has a much longer vertebra which extends much further than the centralized body and drags on the ground. Now moving onto the current skeleton/fossil of a Kangaroo and a much smaller head is noticeable. The arms are also considerably smaller and the legs are more tucked into the central body. Those are the only big differences but in the future Kangaroo, it has much larger arms which are more separated from the body. The hands are the biggest difference as they are perhaps three times bigger and the fingers are further spread apart. The rest of the body is the same as the Kangaroo only needs stronger arms and wide hands so it may swim better than it already
