Today, people have more knowledge about sharks. People now understand that sharks are not killing machines and should be protected rather than slaughtered. The movie was made due to the excitement and thrill in the book and the drive to know the unknown creature we call sharks; however, there were changes made to the movie making the Jaws storyline even more thrilling. There are many differences in Jaws the book and the movie. In the book, Hooper, the biologist is made out to be a young, handsome man. In the movie, Hooper looks like an older, nerdy biologist. Hooper also has an affair with Chief Martin Brody’s wife, Ellen in the book; however, this did not take place in the movie. In the movie, Hooper respects and befriends Chief Brody.
