As shown in appendix B, Bronfenbrenner’s ecosystem map helps assess the systems involved with the family. Eco-maps can show the resource needs and conflicts in the current support services that might require assistance (Arnold & Boggs, 2015).At the Micro level, Cheryl does not have any support networks, she has indicated that she never talks to her friends about the problems she experiences and that her only relative is her mother who she defines as “useless”. There is a lack of strong family support networks as she plays a carer role in regards to her mother. Cheryl’s would like to feel more in control of her family and does not wish for Jasmine to influence Kylie too much. The father has not been in the picture since he was informed of Jasmines pregnancy. There is a need to determine the relationships Jasmine identifies as important; this can be done through further interviews with the family. Looking at the micro level of the family, it is evident that they are lacking a close supportive network, which is of concern. This has resulted in a reduction of time spent looking after her children. Cheryl does not appear to participate in recreational activities. Her relationship with Jasmines school seems amicable at best but due to the recent claim of violence resulting in the department of human services intervention, this relationship could deteriorate. Jasmine’s relationship with her school has not been the best. She has not been attending school and has continued to defy her mother on many occasions. Further information into Jasmine and Cheryl’s friends circle will be required through
