The formation of Apple Inc. can be dated back to 1976. The founder; Steven Jobs and Steven Wozniak came up with the first computer called Apple I. Apple II was then introduced in 1978.The introduction of Apple II set the pace in the industry since it had a setting for color display. Apple became one of the leading PC industry members when they eventually an application that was used to upgrade the Macintosh computer. Notebook computer that is the first generation was released in 1991 followed by PowerMac family and power Book in 1994.The growth of Apple Inc. was not without challenges. An industry key success factors (KSFs) are those competitive factors that most affect industry members ability to prosper in the marketplace. Key success factors may include particular strategy elements, product attributes, resources, competitive capabilities, or intangible assets. Amongst the Key Success Factors in the iPhone, the industry includes expertise in computer and information technology, product innovation capabilities, low-cost production design and engineering, a strong network of retailers. Like most other competitors in this industry, Apple's KSFs though slightly different should be on par with the ones as mentioned above. The Apple business strategy was effective for the iPhone. Brand differentiation as a business strategy has played a significant role in the success of the Apple iPhone. After the first sale of the iPhones that saw 6 million Apple iPhones sold, the company improved some of the features it possessed. For instance, the iPhone next production consisted of a slimmer, more intelligent, faster and iPhones offering new form factors. The upgrading strategy where the company upgrades the iPhone features every 12 months has played a significant role in keeping it relevant to the market
