The Inuit food was very important. In the ice cold tundra getting food wasn’t like a walk in the park. It took a few hunters days to track down a whale to bring back to their village. This tribe may have had fish and bird eggs for food, But they did not have berries or veggies to eat. However, the Haida had a much different variety of food. They had nuts, berries, fish, land-meat and eggs. Unlike the Inuit the Haida lived in forests near lakes and rivers where they had a wide choice of food to eat. But wait, how do they get all that meat and fish? These tribes had a lot of tools to use. The Inuit used harpoons (a hook that is attached to a long rope) to hunt fish like whales. They used jewelry to trade for metals and used bone-hooks and knives for hunting. Yet, the Haida used bows, arrows, shares and harpoons to hunt, and net, hooks and harpoons for fishing.
