Due to the lack of sleep that insomnia primarily causes, people are not able to get a sufficient amount of sleep they need to stay focused and stay healthy. It mainly put people’s health at risk in which according to the book, it will commonly “result tiredness and increase risk of depression” (page 110). This will eventually lead to harming a person’s immune system and may even develop diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer due to poor body repair, remodeling, and growth that occurs when a person is sleep which insomnia prevents. Due to insomnia’s effects to human body, many people uses “sleeping pills and alcohol” (page 110), however they will just “aggravate the problem, reducing REM sleep and leaving the person with next-day blahs” (page 110). Sleeping pills is successful in many first stage cases of insomnia, however they eventually loss their effect as they are taken for a long period of time because people will build tolerance, “a state in which increasing doses are needed to produce an effect”. This proves that if insomnia continues, its effects become more serious and riskier to people’s health even after taking alternative aids to cure it because the human body will be immune to that specific aid, making it more difficult to cure …show more content…
The first time I experienced it was when I migrated her in California because I was worried a lot about everything since everything was new to me. I realized that I was experiencing insomnia when It happened too frequently before. most of the time at night, I would find myself spacing out looking at the ceiling and waiting for the sun to rise because no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t get into a dee sleep. I remember that I was mostly stressed and I couldn’t focus properly because I didn’t get enough sleep. I didn’t try to take any medications or eat something that may help me fall asleep but instead I tried to tire myself out until I was completely worn out. I think that the method I used was really effective because since then, I don’t experience it now as much as I did before. Although I still encounter it occasionally I try my best to not take any medications as much as possible because I would rather cure it in a natural and healthier way than taking
