The first point is the fact that Juliet gets married to Romeo without permission. Juliet was supposed to marry Paris, but she married to Romeo because she is impulse with love. Additionally, she got married to Romeo days after they first met. This claim is backed up by the quote “Some means to come to shrift this afternoon; And there she shall at Friar Laurence’ cell Be shrived and married…” (I iv 156-158). In this quote, Romeo asks the Nurse to have Juliet come to Friar Lawrence’s cell in order to be shriven. Shrive means to confess your sins, so Romeo is lying about Juliet confessing her sins when in reality, she is just going to be married. This is rebellious because Romeo lies about her going to forgive her sins. Their families are also sworn enemies, so if Juliet asked to marry Romeo, Capulet would never let it go through. The second point is that Juliet refuses to marry Paris. Again, she is already married to Romeo in secrecy, so she can’t legally marry two people at the same time.
