Background Literature: What is the definition of self- concept? Self concept is determining “who you are” and what we think and how we feel about ourselves. When it comes to taking care of patients it is important that the nurses have a positive attitude of self concept. When having a positive self concept, it can lead to being more focused on the job, and being able to work with people in a stressful environment. They were around the age of 21 and 96% of them were Caucasian. (Hensel & Stoelting-Gettelfinger 2011). The students spent their taking perquisites courses and then taking the nursing classes their second year. They then had to take courses that helped set up a plan for future goals and offered for stress management. The students wrote in journals to help record feedback on the progress they were making and if they were faced with any stress. By using the Nurse Self – Concept Questionnaire and the Stress Warning Signal it helped for a better indication of the self-concept and stress level of the nursing students.
