The performance of students has effects on their choice of career, level of success and personal income as well as the degree of participation in the life of the community. Even though there may be some social and personal factors such as self-motivation, family income, inability to manage school work and others that may lead to low or declining academic performance, the most prominent and tough to handle factor is religious mistreatment (Wulff et.al, 1991).
I carried out research in my academic discipline to find out why religion is an issue of importance in my academic discipline. Another factor that could help in solving the matter is that the students should be admitted from different parts of the country and not only those from regions where one religion is dominant. This will assist in balancing the student population regarding religion. Furthermore, worship places such as mosques should be built in the school to give room for students to perform their diverse religious practices.
From the discussion, above, it is easy to identify that religion is an issue of importance in my academic discipline. There are different religious beliefs, and each one of them requires accommodation and respect. If all religions are respected, then academic performance will be higher.
