Many people believe that not all managers are successful leaders. To be a successful manager one must understand the objectives of the company, know how to lead a team to succeed at set goals and be able to hire and maintain productive employees. To be a successful leader, one must understand the business and understand how to relate to the people that report to them. Sam Mitchell is a great manager and an empowering leader. I assume that Sam just wants people to understand what might not work before failures causes lost production. Employees do not always appreciate his strong structure when he gets upset if someone is late to a meeting. Sam just wants to ensure everyone is treated the same. All employees should know and accept the importance of shift change meetings and how it relates to the overall success of the company.
Knowing that your managers are listening without judgment helps increase moral. Sam is always observing his employees and supervisors facial expressions and body language. If he his explaining how the palletizer is not going to work at optimum speed unless the line is clear, he is reading his employees to see if they show a true passion to learn or if they just agree to agree. Sam Mitchell. I believe that with my formal educations, years of experiences and knowledge gained by being an employee of Mr. Mitchell has allowed me to position myself to be a successful manager than strives to lead her staff to greatness. Additional goals to achieve success is to graduate from APU with a bachelor degree in Business Administration concentrating in Business Analysis. I will measure my goal by making sure I complete two classes per 8 week session which I feel is attainable. My plan for career after school is to be an event coordinator in the hospitality field so I will take all my electives in relevant classes to that field.
