The MMR protects against measles, mumps, and rubella. Most infants and children receive their first MMR vaccine between the ages of 12-15 months. There has been a total of 886 confirmed and probable cases in Washington as of July 19, 2017 at 4:00pm. Spokane County and King County have the most confirmed cases. There have been 335 cases in Spokane County and 310 cases in King County. At this rate, we are at a high risk for pandemic. There are so many people that travel. If they were exposed to mumps before leaving this state, they could possibly spread the disease to people in the airport, on the plane, and in the state, they are visiting.
