Blood sugar levels needs to be adequately controlled to be able to provide the cells with a constant supply of energy. This process is controlled by the release and storage of glucose, which in return is controlled by a hormone known by the name of insulin. Chemicals that need to be sent in out out of cells are oxygen, dissolved food and carbon dioxide; this being performed by osmosis and diffusion. Also, osmosis and diffusion rely on the balance of the bodies water and salts, this being another aspect that is maintained by homeostasis.
