Routines and procedures are essential components to running a smooth and successful classroom. As the teacher of the classroom, it is my duty to let the students know what the expectations are for the routines and procedures of the class. For behavior, my expectations for the students are responsible, respectful, honest, and to give their best efforts. These are important because they are essential traits to becoming a well rounded citizen. By having these traits, it helps students follow the routines and procedures. I am there for my students and I not only want them to successful, but I expect them to be. By setting high expectations, it allows me to send the message to my students that they are capable of doing great things. I want my students to push through their limits and reach levels they thought may have been impossible. Dweck conducted several studies to provide valid proof of how people with a growth-mind set are more successful in her book Mindset the New Psychology of Success. An example Dweck (2010) provided is about good old Babe Ruth and how he was not a natural, but his determination and hard work is what made him legendary (p. 87). I want to encourage my students to have a growth mindset so they can do more things in their life successfully. In order to do so, I want my students to be okay with failure and grow from it; not be discouraged. The high expectations for individuals go for their education in the classroom, outside the classroom and their behaviors as a peer, friend, family member, and human. I relate attitude to the type of mindset I have for the classroom and most aspects of like; growth-mindset. I identify with the growth mindset because I believe in my students even though I have never met them. In reference to Dweck (2010), teachers with a fixed mindset create an atmosphere of judgement (p. 197) which is something I never want in my classroom. By letting the growth mindset be shown through my teaching, it will influence students and be a great model for them. I do not want to have it just for them, but for myself. I want to grow along with my students so I can be the best teacher for
