Through the elections, the decisions are made out of the majority rule, to be accepted by all, and minority viewpoints are still being respected and protected. Citizens formulating the demands, exerting on pressure and monitoring government’s actions continuously is the way for democracy to function more effectively and serve the interests of its citizens better. At times, the media contributes to public disparagement and deterioration of democracy to a country. The media spreads disruptive news rather than consensus, suspicion instead of social trust, and hatred speeches rather than abstemious debates. This is why fourth power is being spoken as referring to the power of media in public opinion.
