When the peasants of Europe began to read the scriptures for themselves during the Reformation, their ideas of justice and the ideas of church started to change. Peasant started to apply Martin Luther ideas to the center of Europe, lead to a tragic Peasant’s Revolt in 1524. “German peasants, excited by reformers’ talk of Christian freedom, demanded at the end to serfdom. Bands of angry peasants want about the countryside raiding monasteries, pillaging, and burning.”(Textbook P56) From this evidence, tells the peasant revolt turn in to a tragic. From the this quote that Martin Luther inspired the revolt, to causes the peasant to have a new idea of the church, they are angry so they decides to support Martin Luther’s idea, and begin to do a lot of horrible things create chaos in some area in Germany, it start from a really small conflict that Martin Luther want changes in he church, to a chaos in Germany. Weren’t a great idea and a great out come for Luther. Martin Luther has end the revolt in a violence way “The revolt horrified Luther. He wrote a pamphlet urging the German prince to show the peasant no mercy. The princes’ armies crushed the revolt, killing as many as 100,000 people.” (Textbook P56) The second evidence show that Luther wasn’t please of what the peasant were doing, that he didn’t want them to do a lot of distortion, chaos and violence. The things that the peasants did Luther didn’t want to happen at all, is because the church won’t change drives him to use other ways to against the church, which lead detection and chaos to Europe during the reformation. According to Luther he says “The Pope did and he made himself lord over the Church, proclaiming [the Church] at the same time a powerful mother, and empress over the Scriptures. This could not be tolerated.” (Luther’s Table Talk, 1535) All he wanted was to change the rules to Church. For the first evidence here, all the time Luther just want to change the Church from his own words, he didn’t want to bring chaos and distortion to Europe, from the quote he just angry about the Pope have all the things power and money. But he inspired the peasant revolt, which it is a fact he will never be able to change forever. He didn’t want to Pope to have a lot of power and wealthy. According to the teaching of the Bible does teach people to be violence “As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not be quarrel over opinions” (Rom 14:1).
