Being a Professional Soldier is no different. Soldiers are inherently drawn to this line of work because of the sense of duty they feel to their country and fellow Americans. Professional Soldiers become experts in their field, are proficient in land and war operations, and get embedded in the Army culture that surrounds them (The profession of Arms, 2010).
The Army functions like a very intricate machine. Balance must be maintained in order for it to continue running smoothly. The Army’s leaders are responsible for maintaining balance. In order for this to happen, leadership must consider several factors such as the history of the organization, past conflicts, current climate of operations, future operating environments, and the progressive direction that the Army is taking (The Profession of Arms, 2010).
