Domestic violence is very common in today’s society. Its one of the major issues that go unreported because most of the victims are afraid that the abuser will come back and retaliate. In most domestic violence relationships, the woman will develop battered woman syndrome. Battered woman’s syndrome is very dangerous and once she develops this syndrome, she will start to believe that no matter how bad it gets that it will eventually get better. This is never the case; most of domestic violence cases progressively get worse and can lead to fatal outcomes. When dealing with domestic violence it can be physical, emotional, financial, and sexual when dealing with pregnancy. Statistics have proven that 20 % of victims are women who experience domestic violence to the 2% of men (Burch, R. L., & Gallup, G. G., Jr. (2004). Most of the abuse is initiated when pregnancy begins instead of being continued once pregnant. Most domestic violence victims in the younger ages will grow to think that that kind of behavior is appropriate and will resort to bullying, fighting, or defiance (Sulak, T. N., Saxon, T. F., & Fearon, D. (2014). The long results of this aggressive behavior will lead to a spiral of violent behavior and can escalate through adulthood. Many of these victims will result to antisocial behavior and they will not be aware of the consequences that follow.
