I was an ambitious sophomore in every way I could be, and this year I have taken my role as Vice President very seriously. I was able to work closely with the other officers to coordinate events and direct the meetings, both crucial aspects of our chapter’s success. Through my DECA experience thus far, I have realized that it is not just a club, and what we do in it does not just stay with us in high school. DECA has been instrumental in my life and I have been enamored of it so…
Dear Chuck Kraemer Scholarship Committee, Thank you again for your support in my academic journey. My first year at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities was incredible. I learned a great deal, academically, socially, and personally. I was also given the opportunity to travel with one of my classes to France for a little over a week, which was absolutely wonderful.…
Please allow me to say, it was a pleasure for the opportunity to discuss the success of the BVA Mentorship Program with you yesterday. As I was reading all the information you sent yesterday, I was immediately drawn to everyone on the “to” line. After seeing the Senior Leadership on the “to” line, it is evident the support needed to make this program a success is there.…

Throughout my high school endeavor I have had the privilege to be in the AVID program for two years. Initiating my junior year thanks to my cousin Martin who introduced me to you. However, I wish I would have commenced my freshman year. I write this letter for three reasons: First, to express my appreciation for your key role in the success of the AVID program thus far. Secondly, to convey my personal gratitude for all the opportunities you have offered me and the countless amounts of advice.…
want to say how extremely proud I am of each of you for your dedication and hard work over the 5 weeks of Summer Early Entry! You have proven to your instructors and yourself that you can do college level work and you are HILLTOPPERS! I hope you all have had an outstanding week with M.A.S.T.E.R Plan, made new friends and adjusted to your new home here at WKU. If you need anything during your undergraduate college career please do not hesitate to ask. I look forward to seeing you ALL walk across the stage in four years!…
As the year comes to an end, all that is left is prepare for senior year and advise the incoming juniors of what to expect. First and foremost, to all of the incoming juniors I would like to advise that they enjoy their experience as a Junior but not stray from their education. Junior year is such an important year for college futures and career paths, that so much uncertainty leads students to stray down the wrong path. As long as they know their priorities, the incoming juniors will be able to enjoy their junior year. Me, as an incoming senior, want to take my own advice and enjoy the year while setting my priorities straight.…
September 2012 I, Ashley Calderon, began 9th Grade. It was a new school, new surrounding. The last three years I have been constantly in and out your office making sure everything in my classes are good, making sure I am on the right track to a successful future like you always say. I will continue to do so. As you may know now I am a senior of Hempstead High School, my senior year has finally arrived.…
Hi Emi! It’s Carlos. I sat in front of you in our ENG 232 class with Dr. Nicholson. I’ve been writing thank you cards to my friends and even those who I didn’t interact much in class in order to say thank you for this year.…
As my time in high school begins to dwindle down and graduation day rapidly approaches, I look forward to embarking onto college and a new series of endeavours. However, I would not be the person I am today if it was not for my journey from freshman to senior year at John F. Kennedy Memorial High School. I have learned countless morals, lessons, and an incredible education in my unforgettable high school experience. My teachers, administrators, coaches, as well as fellow classmates and teammates have made my time in high school enjoyable and have taught me so much. John F. Kennedy Memorial High School has both a rich history and a bright future.…
Growing up, I always had my heart set on pursuing a career in the medical field. At the age of 7, I was the only one in my family who could stomach cleaning my mom’s stitches after she shattered her kneecap. The human body fascinated me. Even at this young age, I was in awe of how the surgeons were able to “put my mom back together” and how the body could heal itself. From then on, my passion to gain knowledge of the human body continued.…
I want to take this opportunity to sincerely and formally thank you for all you have done and made possible in helping me progress throughout my time here at SPC. My experience as a member of the Honors College has enhanced my life through the fellowship, better course environments, and the exceptional research conference opportunities and exposure that your leadership has provided. From a student’s standpoint ― especially an “unconventional” student such as myself ― you have given not only fresh and unique opportunities to myself and our membership, but you have given your heart and soul with the purpose of adding an advanced and totally positive learning environment. I know many Honors College alumni privately express this very same message to you ― but your total giving of time, energy, creativity, and true caring should receive far more formal acknowledgement.…
With Thanksgiving coming the word “Thankful” will come about a lot. With that being said I want to throw out that I am thankful for all the parents of students of Country Woods. You guys have been so patient and uplifting to me and Amanda. With me finishing school soon and balancing life you all have been so helpful and willing to serve at anytime. You all have raised some amazing kids and make it so easy to love on them.…
There are so many dimensions to counseling; guiding students with their academic path, creating an environment where they feel safe and supported, being a counselor and identifying risk factors. Beyond these dimensions however I believe the two most important characteristic when defining a counselor are adaptability and resilience. Academic counselors come across diverse populations and I believe there is no standard process when guiding students. The counselor should actively listen to the student and build a professional relationship in order to build trust. Equally important is the ability of the counselor to be resilient and to teach resilience.…
High school is coming to an end. We’re becoming young adults and it's time to look what the future has in store for us. From waking up, going to my first day of school to now, waking up going to my last day of school. Knowing that this will be the only time i ever get to graduate high school kinda puts a lot of pressure on me…
