Although, the nursing program is extensive and challenging I will be completing the program in May 2019. I then plan to transfer to UMASS Dartmouth to complete my BSN.…

The Essentials of Baccalaureate Education for Professional Nursing Practice was first created by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing in 1986 to provide a framework to build an effective nursing curriculum. The expected outcomes of a nursing student are emphasized in the BSN Essentials once they graduate from a nursing program: core knowledge, professional values and behaviors, and role development. In addition, the BSN Essentials meet the Institute of Medicine’s recommendation for core knowledge needed for all healthcare professionals to build a safer healthcare system (IOM 2001b). Informatics has played an integral role in the healthcare system to deliver quality and safe care. The American Nurses Association (ANA) define nursing…
Despite my ineffective methods as a young child, I have not lost my drive for helping others. I plan on becoming a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, and while I know my direction could change with further exposure to other medical fields, I know…
I have a few goals of my own that I have set up that I wish to achieve. I plan on finishing up school here at Kaplan and receiving my Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, then using that degree to pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a PA. I hope to attend a superior PA program in California. Once I have graduated from an accredited PA Master’s program I plan to work in a hospital, I have not yet decided what specialty field I would like to practice. After all this I still plan to continue to further educate myself and continue to grow as a PA and an individual, and possibly go all in and get the Dr. in front of my name.…
I have always wanted to enter the medical field so that I could help people, and I believe that is my calling on how I will make a difference in society. At whatever school I end up at, I plan to make a difference in that community as I have my own through my involvement within local philanthropies. In Prosper, I am part of National Charity League, a mother daughter philanthropic organization that gives back to our community. I volunteered regularly at ManeGait and Cornerstone two local charities located in the city of Prosper. I will connect with people who have the same drive and passion as I do, while still staying involved within my community.…
According to Lamberton and Minor (2014) self-motivation is essential to the idea of self-direction, which is the ability to set short-term and long-term goals. Both short-term goals and long-term goals are important in life to become successful. I have set certain goals I would like to accomplish in my lifetime; some of these goals are personal while others are professional. A few of my professional goals for the future are to finish my Bachelor’s degree in nursing, find a nursing job in an ambulatory surgery unit, and eventually, apply for a Master’s degree to become a nurse practitioner.…
My Personal Goal Statement Every day I wake up, I ask myself how I can make a difference. This question has helped shape my personal values and principles and directed my path into the nursing field. Growing up in West Africa and witnessing firsthand the sufferings and impoverishment of the people around me, I developed a sense of compassion and willingness to make a difference and help alleviate their sufferings and put a smile on their faces. Healthcare delivery and poverty are two major underlying factors in the challenges faced in Africa, thus, when I got an opportunity to come into the United States, it was my golden ticket to finally give back to the community and make a difference. This led me into the nursing field; I started out as a Certified Nurse Assistant.…
While Struggling with a learning disability such as ADHD, the feeling of discouragement and illiteracy negatively impacted my academics as a child. I have faced several obstacles growing up with ADHD, but I realized that adhd is not a “disability”, it’s the ability to process knowledge at my own pace. That self-confidence is what gave me the encouragement and drive to seek a higher level of education and meet all my life goals. When I was a child and others would ask, “What do you want to be when you grow up”, my answer had always remained the same. I 've always been determined to be a nurse, nursing assistant, or work somewhere in the medical field.…
1) My academic and career goals are set around the medical field. I want to finish my nursing degree and hopefully work for a great hospital/clinic that will give me the opportunity to grow and advance with them. I came about this career goal because of my own conditions. A few years ago I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and it woke me up.…
I recall memories of my mother and I spending time together when I was younger. We talked about numerous things that led to discovering what type of person my mother is and who she wanted to be. Talking with her helped me learn who I wanted to be. I wanted to be just like her. The moment my mother told me she wanted to become a nurse, I decided that is who I wanted to become.…
Ever since high school my dream has always been to become a nurse. I know that Nursing is the profession for me. Becoming a Pediatric Nurse is what interest me. I am an outgoing person who enjoys working with and helping others. I have watched my cousin Michele graduate from nursing school and how hard she worked and how committed she’s was in making her dream of becoming a nurse.…
I naturally take the lead role in any task that I perform, in a very polite manner of course. I make an effort to help others transcend their own expectations, especially those who lack confidence. I enjoyed informing myself on future class subjects so I could know how to carry out experiments and projects the next day. Constantly showing my intelligence and social skills, I gained admiration and gave people the confidence to ask me for help. My leadership skills were also recognized at Eden Hospital.…
Aspire for the Future Every child aspires at a young age to be something great when they grow up. Of course, like most little girls, I aspired to become a nurse. From my grandfather being in hospice and my great grandmother living in a nursing home, I was interested in the medical field at a very young age.…
