Is it more than just convenience? According to food: the hidden addiction, authors of a paper from the Medicai Hypotheses found that foods such as sugar, refined sweeteners and carbohydrates, sat, fat, and caffeine are addictive substances (Food: hidden addiction). Because these foods, commonly found in fast food, are addictive. It often leads to consumers losing some of their inhibitions as far as regulating how often they eat out to get these substances. From this we see that fast food affects American’s eating habits.
C-B: These changed eating habits and possible addictions is what promotes obesity in America today. In the survey I conducted, I also addressed the obesity epidemic and asks the participants perception of the issue. 100% of the participants believed that this is a real problem and that fast food is a definite contributing factor.
