For example, in Of Mice and Men, Lennie is loyal to George. When they were little, George told Lennie to jump in a river, Lennie cannot swim, but he still jumps in because George told him so. He almost drowns until George saves him. He thanks George for saving him and forgot that George is the one who told him to jump in the first place.
