Adam Smith was an 18th Century Scottish Social Philosopher and Political Economist who wrote "The Wealth of Nations". In The Wealth of Nations, Smith details the first system of political economy. It is often referred to as "The Bible of Capitalism". Adam Smith's exact date of birth is unknown, although baptismal records show that on June 5, 1723, he was baptized in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. At school he studied Latin, mathematics, history and writing and later on attended the University of Glasgow at age 14 and in 1740 went to Oxford, England to attend Balliol College.
