Similarly, a 40-year-old non-smoking woman pays up to 57 percent more than a 40-year-old male smoker in the same plan. This proves the point that companies are targeting women and treating them differently than men. This is important to recognize because without access to healthcare policies that use discrimination like this will return and further harm women.
