The concept of a school is that there are certain rules and guidelines. But, with school once school ends the people can do what they want to do. The normal school day is usually only eight hours. That leaves a good chunk of the day left to do …show more content…
All of the tasks of a student's day is selected or decided by either the headmaster or Dap. The students do get to choose a class or two. Another person that has a small say in the student's day is an army commander names Anderson. The headmaster Colonel Graff and Major Anderson basically decides what classes Ender takes. The Two leaders also do not give Ender any say in where or when he gets transferred. This is an example of the first time Anderson wants to move Ender. “I don't plan to leave him there very long anyway.” pg 55. Unfortunately at this time Ender was just getting to know the people around him. It's not easy to just get told to forget to know everything you have come to know. This can also be hard because there is not a way to what's next. This can be scary because how do you know what you will be going into next. The fear of going into a new place can be hard and scary. Whats even worse is that Ender is an eight year old. Most if not all of the other students at least twelve. This fear can make you have very negative thoughts. That strict nature in my opinion also is not good for young children. Yes in the future a boss may tell you what to do. That does happen with almost everyone. But, some and most people need some sort of freedom. In these military environments basically from the time they get up they are told what to do. That is the situation in battle school. The students may get to choose a few classes. But the time they are in those classes they have to listen to the instructor. Most likely after they are done with class they have battle practice and must listen to their toon leader. The teachers and leaders also usually aren't nice to these students either. The way a person talks to you can and will change your perspective of that person. This quote illustrates how Enders perception of colonel Graff. “Nowhere in that does it say;I have to make friends with children”(43). Words can change how you see and respect a person. Perception is another form of judging. After this statement Ender now doesn't like Cournol Graff. Words like that shouldn't be said to a young child. At the moment that Ender talked to Graff he was already scared. Now he will form this moment on fear the battle school. This is not what or how a parent would bring up a child at all. Important faiths can be learned as sympathy and being nice to people. From the moment that Ender gets off the ship he is shown none of those
