In America the high school graduate rates have increased due to the is Ones family heritage reflects a person’s background. Throughout the world, many cultures have traditions that differ from each other. In America, teenagers are required to attend high school, ninth through twelfth grade. Once the completion of twelfth grade, the graduating students are celebrated during a ceremony to be recognized. Family and friends attend this event to support their loved ones. An American high school graduation allows students to realize their true potential and reach who they are, not only as individuals, but as citizens.

Also a guest speaker, alumni speakers and solo singer or choir are included to make the ceremony more special. The order of graduation can vary, however the typical order outlines the entrance of teachers and then the graduates walk into the ceremony while the original graduation song is played by composer Sir Edward Elgar March 1- Pomp and Circumstances. Next the school pledge is said by one or two of the graduates. The commencement speaker then introduces the Head School which gives his or her congratulatory speech which leads to the alumni’s speech giving advice to the graduates on their transition to college. From the alumni’s speech it transitions to the salutatory speech which is based upon their experience through high school, what lessons they will take with them to college, starting a new life and that this is only the beginning of a bright future. A song is then sung by either a solo singer or choir. Next, is the valedictory speech which states their experience through high school, what lessons they will take with them to college, starting a new life and that this is only the beginning of a bright future. Premises two states, “Movement knowledge is conceptual and emotional as well as kinesthetic.” The movement throughout graduation is conceptual due to the details of planning this ceremony which took a lot of effort and hard thinking. Also emotional through the excitement and proudness cause family and friends to cry tears of joy and bright smiles. Nonetheless, kinesthetic by physically taking part in the ceremony after that moment was played so many times over and over again in the graduates head. Premises four states, “One has to look beyond movement to get at its meaning.” This relates to an American high school graduation because everyone knows the layout and there will not be any major changes. But, understanding the true meaning makes one think more in depth of what a high school graduation really means.
