Gender equality is an important factor in women empowerment. Men and women is affected differently from changes in climate as well as poor countries are affected more from this phenomenon. Vulnerability is another key issue related with gender equality and women empowerment. Women are more vulnerable to climate changes because they are lack of access to social and financial support and education as well. There are many projects which are constituted by NGOs help to reduce vulnerability of women by empowering them in the climate change adaptation and mitigation processes. This paper aims to show how mitigation and adaptation projects in the literature have a role in empowering women in developing countries.

Women empowerment is a key factor for diminishing vulnerability which enables women to actively participate in decision making process and provides social and financial support and also reduces gender inequality.
