In the article The Global Impact of gangs written by John M. Hagedorn discuss about gangs and the social impact it as in the United States an in other countries. When discussing when does a gang becomes gang? The article states that “segregation of wealthy and poor”(Hagedorn, 2005) the idea of being separated poor young ambiguous young adults whom do not have the skills to get hired in the job market. The wealthy misplace many young low-income families in worse neighborhoods this neighborhoods lack funds to create jobs an often the state government doesn’t nothing to intervene. The gangs in the article are viewed in a global standpoint share the same concept that is finding financial opportunity structuring around the neighborhood in order for the gang to survive. The gangs that are all around the world want to survive in the political and economical structured economy. The problem anyone facing in low income communities is no types of job skills are offered and the lack of government funding for any type of programs to help the community. The reason gangs are formed is the too survive in an economy and government that doesn’t offer any opportunity for an individual to be successful. The gang will offer not only financial stability but also protection from a low-income community in where anyone will target individuals for their resources. The gangs characteristics reside around a community that as no means of being able to succeed financially an is struggling to keep up with mainstream values. Hagedhorn the idea of the article is to discuss the gangs at a global standpoint. The article provides the inside of how gangs can affect a community and have affected different communities all around the world and policies in the governments. The reason it is important to study gangs is the article suggested is “gangs are social actors which requires policy of both intolerance violence and tolerance of informal non violent economic activity”(Hagedorn, 2005). The idea of the article is to analysis the socially excluded gangs an out cry all around the world for better economic opportunist from the government. The gangs in the communities all around the world want to make greater changes with being able to offer jobs and equalities in low income communities. There is a lot of government tending to ignore gangs and socially struggling communities and that will result in dear consequences in the future. The gangs that are financially stable will overthrow a government the article wants to emphasize that gangs and low income community need help an this communities are not getting it from the government.
