In the daily speech colliding is a word used to describe, when it is two (visible) objects, something is “hit by accident when moving”1, but when it is about galaxies it is not the stars or the solar systems that are colliding. In this subject it is the gravitational fields of the involved galaxies in a interaction that can be called that they are in collision. As this is galaxies the spacing and the sheer size makes the chance of the physical objects highly unlikely to bump into each other…...stats... For this reason the process seems more violent than it is, for the most violent type of interacting galaxies leads to a merge between those galaxies, thus the name of this type is galaxy mergers. For this it would be better to call it gravitational colliding between galaxies if scientists wish to use the word colliding, to not create any misconceptions on what these things …show more content…
Right now there are two galaxies named Sagittarius and Canis major dwarf that are undergoing minor mergers to (should it be it or with???)) our Milky Way. Beginning with Sagittarius, it is a cluster type of galaxy embracing our Milky way since long ago. It was discovered in 1994 by it’s main cluster and there are scientists believing that our solar system once belonged to the Sagittarius dwarf galaxy 2. It is a cannibalism type of interaction with the Milky Way consuming them. And about the other interaction, the Canis major dwarf, consists of stars, red giants, class M giant stars, etc… It is also wrapped around our Milky way 3 times, and more about galaxies interacting with us, there is one thing called the andromeda-Milky way collision. These are the interactions that are ongoing, but there is one major collision that will happen in a few billion
