This system allowed the Native Americans to avoid debt to the French as well as ensuring continuous supply of beaver pelts to Europe. Without this partnership between the French and the Native Americans, along with the original trading of tools for pelts, the fur trade would have never continued in America. Thus, the French and their relations and tools assisted in the beginning of the American fur trade. Secondly, the Spanish understood the value of the fur trade and attempted to contain and change the trade from a French trade to a Spanish one. Hats made from the American fur was typically sent to Spain and Portugal which inspired the Spanish to journey to the Americas to own the land and hopefully the trade. Finally, because of these changes, America became powerful; they broke free from England, gained positive relations with the Native Americans and became the world’s leading supplier of fur, gaining a massive economy. As shown, because of the fur trade, America changed drastically and became better as a
