There are many topics in the French Revolution to pick from but, some interesting ones I would like to introduce are the trials and execution of Louis XVI, The reign of terror, and the remaking of France. I will break up each topic into three sections scratching the surface on each of these topics and briefly discussing each one. My goal for this paper is to give you a better understanding of some of the things that happened during the French Revolution.

It later led to the Bastille being invaded by the Parisians on April 14, 1789. In December 1792 Louis was put on trial with 33 charges. Every charge was because of betrayal, sabotage, and failure to lead. Louis was removed from his role as a monarchy. He was arrested and sent to a fortress in Paris called the temple.
It was finalized on January 20th that Louis would be executed within 24 hours. Louis requested three days to be able to say goodbye to his wife and kids, and be ready to be in the presence of God. His request was denied however he was aloud a visit from his loved ones the night before his execution. France became a confused array of administration under Ancient Regime. By the making of the new regime they wanted to address issues from the ancient regime and remake France from scratch. The old provinces would be wiped clean and be replaced with new administration divisions. The recommendations of from the committee were passed on March 4th 1790, the reforms ended the provinces and were replaced with 83 divisions.
The National Constituent Assembly gave attention to simplifying the weight and measurements of land. The old ways from the ancient regime for these duties were very confusing. Merchants would get frustrated with the lack of consistency the old way worked. The National Constituent Assembly implemented a new and more efficient system to get the weights and measures. There were many ideas how to more forward on what systems to implement.
Mathematicians came up with the development of which is now called the metric system. The Committee approved the creation of this system, the creators believed that this would spread all over France. However it took a few year before France embraced this system. The creation of the metric system was a slow work in progress and was never finished until the 1790’s. There was a calendar and decimal time developed but was ignored by the French people and later abolished by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1806.
