A few years ago, Joe had problems with overeating, obesity, getting older, and not working out enough. He changed by eating in moderation, taking walks, and adopting a new diet concepts that will promote healthy eating. The diet started with eating eggs, fish, chicken, vegetables, and fruit in portions while snacking on peanuts or grapes. Also, this diet has worked for him without any complications and may not meet the dietary recommendations intake (DRI). Joe participated in a three days process using the profiler food intake journal to show exactly how much food or what type of nutrients entering into his body each day. Also, his carbohydrate and protein counts stayed within levels of the DRI intake. The information will recommend Joe to stop using margarine, eat less fatty foods, take one a day men’s vitamins, eat more fruit, and healthy snacks. If Joe had lower levels he would have to drink large amounts of water consumed high energy nutrients, carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins. Consuming to much of any macronutrients that includes proteins and carbohydrates can cause a person to gain weight.. If Joe gain excessive weight his risk of heart disease will increase, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, seizures and other serious medical conditions (Home/food And Nutrition Information Center, 2015). Joe passed the recommended requirements by consuming 30 grams per 1000 calories and he can eat more fruits and vegetables to level off fiber intake as needed. According to dietary guidelines for Americans, peanuts, fruits, and whole grains with at least 2.5 g fiber per serving provide the most fiber. Also, pizza crusts, and refined grains will provide the lease fiber. Joe food choices consist of beans, whole grains and lentils to increase his fiber level if needed. Joe will need to eat more whole grains, fruits, and vegetable to increase fiber in the diet. Without these vital nutrients or excessive amounts can lead to death, heart attack, high blood pressure, diabetes, medical problems, and other diseases..
