Explain the circulatory system and its component in detail:
The circulatory system helps to fight against diseases, and helps the body maintain a normal body temperature, and provides the right chemical balance to provide the body’s homeostasis, or state of balance among all its systems.
Main Circulatory System Organs
The circulatory system consists of the heart, blood vessels, blood and the lungs: Figure 1: circulatory system
1. The Heart
It is located slightly to the left of the middle of the chest, the heart is made of strong muscle tissue and protected by rib cage. It consists of four chambers that are hollow, that are two ventricles and two atria. The blood that moves towards …show more content…
The three basic types of blood vessels, including capillaries, arteries and veins.
• Arteries take oxygen-rich blood away from heart.
• Veins take blood back toward heart.
• Capillaries are very tiny blood vessels that form a connection between arteries and veins. Transfer of nutrients, oxygen and wastes in and out of body facilitated by the capillary.
3. The Blood
The heart pumps blood throughout body. The blood is a substance that carries water, nutrients, waste products and oxygen to and from body cells. A young person will have up to a gallon of blood, whereas an adult will have about 5 quarts of blood. It is important to note that blood looks like an ordinary red liquid, but it's in fact made up of solids, liquids and small amounts of carbon dioxide and oxygen. Different blood cells include red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma and platelets.
4. The Lungs
Lungs aren't technically a part of circulatory system organs, but they really help make it possible for heart to function correctly. Lungs provide oxygen for body. The lungs send oxygen-rich blood to the left side of heart and heart then uses blood vessels and arteries to transfer it to the rest of
