In The Outsiders fights happen quite often. On page 57 Ponyboy said "You really killed him huh, Johnny?" And Johnny replied "'Yeah'", referring to Bob. Bob dies during a brawl because he was drowning Ponyboy, and Johnny stabbed him to save Ponyboy. The brawl was over Greasers hanging out with Cherry and Marcia, which are Socs' girlfriends. One of the main factors from stress could've easily been fighting and arguments with his gang of Greasers and Socs. On page 131 Ponyboy said "I knew he would be dead because, Dally Winston wanted to be dead and he always got what he wanted." In this quote it is saying how Dally wanted to die. There are several reasons for why he might want to die but in my opinion the pressure of Greasers vs. Socs was a component in his death.
