Nowadays people think that men and women are already equal so what is the point of feminism. People think that feminists hate men and are angry all the time. Back then in Juliet’s time feminism wasn’t really a thing. Women didn’t really know what it was and what it ment. Women were expected to be obedient and beautiful. They were expected to obey and serve men and juliet was not really into this. Guys just were eager and only thought of women as girls who would just clean and be expected to cook and take care of children. Most of the time they just used them and only had them for pleasure. Juliet's parents weren’t as close to her since juliet didn’t come out of her mothers whom. She was closer to her nurse since Juliet was raised by her. In juliet's time her father owned her and got to choose who she got married and what age she was able to marry that person no matter if the person she was going to marry was 10 years older than her . Juliet didn't really had the right of free speech, meaning that she couldn't really say no to her father and tell him that she could marry anyone she wanted. Juliet did all she could to disagree with her parents even if that meant that she had to kill herself for the love of her life. Marriages were arranged in Juliet's time, parents got to choose who they got to marry. Even if that meant that the person that juliet was going to marry was 10 years older than her. Juliet in way thought that arranged marriages were not always the best. When she found out that she had to marry paris she had to pretend that she was happy when she actually wasn’t. Marriages back then didn’t really matter if the person was 20 or 5 years
