As fantasy sports sites like FanDuel and DraftKings have seen an increase in participation over the years, leagues like the NBA have come to agreements with fantasy sites, which give them an equity stake in the company that they can profit off of. Fantasy sports play is continuing to grow as more and more individuals decide to participate. Although some do not consider this a sport, they do enjoy collecting their winnings. This is an excellent argument for legalization of single game betting because it is similar to fantasy sports and the earnings obtained from participation. If the government and society felt that gambling and betting were entirely bad for the economy, they would not have allowed for the legalization of casinos, fantasy sports, and other legal bets like horse races. There is always the fear of point shaving and cheating, but the opposition feels that by openly allowing betting, players and referees would be more prone to rig games in hopes of obtaining a profit for themselves.
