Now that the parlor is gone Mildred doesn’t even know what to think or do without her walls. Without a doubt if Mildred wasn’t obsessed with her walls she wouldn’t be in shock and she would be able to live without them. These women are just like Mildred, they can't go without their walls. “The three women fidgeted and looked nervously at the empty mud-colored walls”(Bradbury 91). These women are just like Mildred because if they weren’t obsessed with their walls they wouldn’t be affected by this and they wouldn’t be in so much shock. In this society they want everything being perfect it just ends up harming their society even more. Here people think their society is perfect, but they aren't even thinking about the future. “They are so confident that they will run on forever. but they won't run on. they don't know what this is all one huge big blazing meteor that makes a pretty fire in space, but that some day it'll have to hit. They see only the blaze, the pretty fire, as you saw it”(Bradbury 99-100).
