The idea that animals have rights may sound odd to others because we do not compare the worth of their life to the worth of ours. Many people are oblivious to the fact that our fellow creatures are raised and killed in cruel conditions. In the article “Factory Farming: Misery for Animals,” peta states, “The giant corporations that run most factory farms have found that they can make more money by squeezing as many animals as possible into tiny spaces, even though many of the animals die from disease or infection.” These animals are being born and raised in places where their rights and needs are being stripped from them. Although one may argue that they are going to die anyways and we should not cater to them, they are still living beings and there is an ethical way to go about the way we raise and kill them.
