In response to the Great Depression, FDR created new deal programs, some of these programs such as Social Security are still in use. However, problems continued as America was thrown into World War II after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. The United States formed an alliance with Great Britain and the Soviet Union to stop the German forces.
