Mental health and mental illness are two different things. Everyone has mental health, its is about our thoughts, feelings and ability to interact with others in a positive way. Mental illness is an illness that affects the way a person thinks, feel, behave and socialise with others. There are many different types of mental illness such as Bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression, schizophrenia and the list goes on. All of them have different symptoms and affects people lives differently .

The school counsellor can also help you with talking to your parents about mental illness.You could go a general partitioner, they will give you more detailed information about mental illness. A psychologist can help treat the illness and prescribe medicines for the according to the type of illness you have. If you don’t feel comfortable talking to about mental illness face to face you can always seek help online.
