Weeks deals with a lot is students being tardy to class. The majority of time these tardies occur during first period as students are late arriving to school. At our school this is the only infraction that allows a teacher to administer punishment. Students are given detention for being late to class the second and third time (the first tardy is a warning). If students do not serve their detention then they again go see Mr. Weeks and generally receive one day of in-school suspension. On the fourth and succeeding tardy students are given in-school suspension with the length increasing each time a tardy is reported. Overall, Mr. Weeks felt that the discipline procedures for minor infractions worked, but he would like for teachers to handle more discipline internally. However, with the current policy of teachers only being able to assign detention for being tardy Mr. Weeks acknowledged that teachers are limited in being able to handle their own discipline
