A bust is a quarterback that could not make it in the NFL for a very long time. Busts posse the mental traits of low QB IQ, very low composure, low mental toughness, and sometimes off field issues. Every mental trait of a bust is going to lower than the other two styles of quarterback. That is a reason that busts do not last long in the NFL. One common reason busts failed in the NFL are off field issues. For example, Johnny Manziel partied on a nightly basis, showed up to practices late, and was arrested on multiple occasions. In this case Johnny was released from his team and has not been signed since then. They can posse some of the physical traits as the dual threats and pocket passers, but fall short in each one. For example, a bust can have a strong arm or very high QB IQ but will fall short in other categories, which makes them a low-quality quarterback that no teams wants. Some of the most well-known NFL busts are JaMarcus Russell, Andre Ware, and Ryan Leaf.
